Masterclass

One-Page Profiles are at-a-glance strengths-based best practice tools for personalization in eldercare.

Summary

In this Masterclass, you will learn how to create high-quality One-Page Profiles. Using this simple tool leads to a dramatic improvement in care and lays the foundations for future improvements.

A One-Page Profile is a best practice tool first developed by Helen Sanderson Associates in the UK and is now in use internationally.

It is a fantastic and straightforward at-a-glance tool to help long-term care professionals provide better person-centred care and support. It is a simple summary of what is important to someone and how they want to be supported.

For elders in your care, it provides a record of how they'd like people to help them, including if and when they need care and support.

Why do they matter?

A One-Page Profile captures three essential things:

  • What people appreciate about me
  • What’s important to me
  • How best to support me

It’s not a file. It’s not a form. It’s a shortcut to knowing someone well enough to get the important things right.

Without it, support becomes guesswork. With it, support becomes intentional, respectful, and aligned with the person’s identity.

Audience

The course is for anyone working in long-term eldercare, specifically working in dementia care, who want to improve intake, personalize care day-to-day, and improve all areas of supportive care. This includes all staff and caregivers, such as activity professionals, personal support workers, behavioral support, and volunteers.
